Join us to drive change in the industry

We provide a forum for businesses and social and environmental organisations to work together, creating value that neither group can create on its own. As a member you will be at the heart of the ResponsibleSteel programme, ensuring we create value for your organisation.

Help us to develop our standards

Full members (business and civil society members) have the exclusive opportunity to participate in working groups to develop ResponsibleSteel standards and vote on the adoption of standards and the ResponsibleSteel Constitution.

Participate in special events and webinars

Engage with key industry stakeholders and sustainability experts by participating in technical working groups to develop the Standard, speaking at exclusive in-person member meetings, and attending member-only ‘Meet the Expert’ webinars.

Demonstrate your impact

Achieving responsibly produced net-zero steel is a journey. We collaborate with ResponsibleSteel members to showcase pioneering sustainability efforts and demonstrate progress and impact across the value chain.

How can you become a member?

1

Review membership fees and commitments. All members commit to supporting ResponsibleSteel and promoting the responsible sourcing and production of steel. Steelmaking, downstream, and upstream members make further commitments relating to certification and procurement.

2

Complete and submit the ResponsibleSteel membership application form. The ResponsibleSteel Board of Directors reviews all applications prior to approval.

3

Following Board approval, new members will be notified by the ResponsibleSteel Secretariat and announced in ResponsibleSteel’s newsletter and on social media channels.

Who can join

ResponsibleSteel welcomes new members from anywhere in the world. Businesses from every part of the steel value chain and civil society groups are invited to join as full members. Organisations not eligible for full membership but wishing to show their support and be kept informed as the programme develops are invited to join as associates.
