We are pleased to announce more details about ResponsibleSteel’s 2019 events: a Members Meeting in London on 17 and 18 June, and Forum II in Wollongong, Australia on 1-3 December.
The Members Meeting in London on 17 and 18 June, open to Members and Associates, is an opportunity to shape important aspects of ResponsibleSteel’s development. The first day will focus on governance and membership issues. We will present a new multi-stakeholder constitution and membership commitments, for review and agreement.
On the evening of 17 June, we will be reaching new heights with a drinks reception on the ArcelorMittal Orbit, giving attendees the chance to see London from the UK’s tallest sculpture.
The second day will be an all-day workshop on the Draft 4-0 ResponsibleSteel Standard, with the aim of finalising the standard prior to a formal membership vote in September. Please be sure to attend the meeting to be involved in these significant developments – the agenda and invitations will be sent out in April.

Following the success of Forum I in Berlin in October 2018, planning is well underway for Forum II, to be held in Wollongong, Australia, 1-3 December. Historically known for its steel production, Wollongong, 80 kilometres south of Sydney, is one of Australia’s leading industrial and manufacturing centres.
Members and non-members are invited to this event, and we welcome leading businesses from mining, steelmaking, construction, automotive and other sectors together with social, environmental, technical and policy organisations and experts. The two days of conference sessions, relating to the responsible sourcing and making of steel, will be supplemented with site visits and networking events. Over the course of the Forum, attendees will have the opportunity of a tour of the Port Kembla Steelworks.
Please mark the dates in your diary to attend Forum II. We will be sharing registration details and accommodation options in due course.
