ResponsibleSteel Forum I – Berlin

ResponsibleSteel Forum I – Berlin

We would like to thank everyone who attended ResponsibleSteel’s inaugural Forum in Berlin on October 15 2018, and especially our pannelists and speakers.

It was such a great success, we have already started planning for Forum II! Mark your calendars for the 1st-3rd December 2019, with more information to follow.

The event was kindly hosted at the GIZ Building at Reichpietschufer in the heart of Berlin, and introduced by Mr Sören Dengg, Head of Division Energy, Infrastructure, Raw Materials, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Leading businesses from mining, steelmaking, automotive and other sectors met with social, environmental, technical and policy organisations and experts to debate key issues relating to the responsible sourcing and making of steel.

Panels discussed ‘The Demand for Responsible Steel’, ‘Steel and the Paris Agreement’ and ‘Steel’s Raw Material Profile’, with panellists from ArcelorMittal, BlueScope Steel, worldsteel, OECD, GIZ, AngloAmerican, IKEA, IGMetall, IUCN, Fauna & Flora International, the We Mean Business Coalition and many others. There was also an update on progress to date, and plans for ResponsibleSteel™’s launch in 2019.
