Certification Fees

Certification fees apply to certificate holders and are applicable to each individual certificate issued by ResponsibleSteel. These fees are an important source of income to allow ResponsibleSteel to strengthen and keep promoting credibility in our certification programme.

Certification fees cover the costs to ResponsibleSteel of providing services for audit process management and certification maintenance and are revenue neutral.

Certification maintenance includes the provision of a communications toolkit, labelling verification mechanisms, claims tracking and analysis, complaints procedure management, and member support provided by ResponsibleSteel.

The audit process costs cover the review of the audit plan, review of the audit report by the ResponsibleSteel Secretariat, review of the audit report by the Assurance Panel, implementation of the Oversight Mechanism, and support for certification bodies by ResponsibleSteel.

Fees are charged in the calendar year following the certification. All values are in USD.
