This document outlines the procedures that were followed while developing the ResponsibleSteel Standard Version 2.0, designed to comply with the ISEAL Code of Good Practice for Setting Social and Environmental Standards (Version 6.0, December 2014).

This document is a draft version of additional requirements for the responsible sourcing and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions principles of the ResponsibleSteel Standard. It provides drafted guidelines and requirements to achieve Steel Certification.

This document outlines the procedures for reviewing, revising, and developing ResponsibleSteel International Standards, adhering to ISEAL Codes of Good Practice, and includes steps for proposing new versions, stakeholder participation, and decision-making processes.

This document is the ResponsibleSteel Standard Version 1.1, effective from 23 June 2021. This version of the ResponsibleSteel Standard consists of twelve Principles for the responsible sourcing and production of steel. This version is no longer active for ‘Certified Site’ and ‘Certified Steel’ certification.

This table of values, published by ResponsibleSteel, should be used to determine the crude steel GHG emissions intensity performance of a site.
