Membership Commitments By-Law
This by-law outlines the commitments ResponsibleSteel members make to support the ResponsibleSteel Programme and drive positive change through the recognition and use of responsible steel.
Heading

The Membership Commitments By‑law sets out the core commitments expected of all ResponsibleSteel members. By joining ResponsibleSteel, organisations commit to supporting the ResponsibleSteel programme and to driving positive change in the steel industry through the recognition and use of responsible steel.
The by‑law outlines how members are expected to engage constructively with ResponsibleSteel’s standards, policies, and governance, including participating in consultations, sharing expertise, and communicating their membership responsibly. It also defines sector‑specific commitments to support the uptake of the ResponsibleSteel International Production Standard, such as pursuing ResponsibleSteel certification, encouraging demand for certification, or becoming certified against a mine level assurance standard recognised by ResponsibleSteel.
Members are required to demonstrate progress against these commitments over time through regular reporting, helping ensure accountability and alignment with ResponsibleSteel’s mission and objectives.
